Strategy & Advisory

Most technology problems are not technology problems, they are decision problems. Whether it’s managing the wrong priorities, the wrong sequences, the wrong vendor, or a leadership team that doesn’t yet have the information they need to act, we help strategize before anything gets built.

How We Can Help

01.

Fractional CTO / Advisory Retainer

Ongoing senior technical leadership for organizations that don’t have it in-house. We sit in o key decisions, evaluate vendors, help prioritize IT investment, and provide the architectural oversight that prevents expensive mistakes. Typically 2-4 days per month on a retainer basis. This is the most common entry point for PE-backed and mid-market firms without a store internal CTO.

02.

IT Roadmap Development

A structured assessment of where the technology environment is today, where the business is going, and what investments close that gap. Delivered as prioritized roadmap with cost ranges, dependencies, and a tradeoff analysis. We give you an action plan and a working document leadership can actually use in budget discussions, not a 200-slide deck.

03.

M&A Technical Due Diligence

Pre-close assessment of a target company’s technology environment: the architecture, the security posture, integration complexity, technical debt, and the cost to bring the environment to a defined standard post-close. Delivered in the timeframes the deal requires.

04.

Vendor and Platform Evaluation

Independent assessment of vendor proposals, platform options, or build-vs-buy decisions. We have no financial incentive to favor any platform or vendor. Our recommendation reflects what’s right for the client’s specific situation. We will tell you when an off-the-shelf product is the right answer.

04.

Exit Readiness and IT Documentation

Preparing a technology environment for a transaction, documenting architecture, cleaning up technical debt, producing a credible technology narrative for the data room, and addressing the findings that typically surface in buyer diligence.

How Strategy Connects to Delivery

Most of our advisory engagements surface work that needs to get done: a data platform that needs rebuilding, infrastructure that needs modernizing, or software that needs to be written, When that happens, we are already positioned to deliver it.

That’s our model working correctly. We are a firm that helps you understand the problem and then helps you solve it. We are more than just a strategy deck and a hand off, once we help you identify the problem and create a plan and a roadmap, we stick around to deliver the solution.

Some clients only ever need advisory. Others move into one or more delivery pillars. The advisory relationship stays honest either way, and whatever the client needs we are here to help.

Advisory Only

Sometimes the deliverable is just clarity. We provide a roadmap, a recommendation, and a decision with confidence.

Not Sure What You Need Yet? That's the Right Starting Point

Strategy & Advisory engagements often start with a single conversation about what’s not working. We’ll help frame the problem before we discuss any kind of engagement.
